GMX7

So I've had this problem with gearbox and pod farm that's been driving me absolutely ****ing mental for the last year or so, and it's been happening across multiple computers and to a few of my friends with UX1/UX2 toneports as well so it isnt just me. Basically when gearbox or podfarm is open it will randomly completely blow out the sound, as if the mic gain is all the way up or something. Usually it happens when I open or alt+tab out of a program. The issue can be subverted by closing and opening the software but I cant even count the number of times it's gone into "Explode Mode" when I open up my recording program and completely ruins the first take. Has anyone had anything similar happen or know how to fix it?

So I've been using My UX1 for the last 4 years and I think it's run its course. I was looking at the HD500X, but mainly I use my UX1 to record on my computer. Can I still utilize all the amp models from pod farm, or can I only use the onboard processed amps from the HD500x? Also would my sound see an improvement in quality?
