Hi all,
I'm so confused over this due to conflicting info I've seen (forums/youtube), and received (direct from Line6).
Looking to use PGo with two external unpowered bookshelf speakers (powered by external receiver) - which is currently connected to my computer sound card. Current "order chain" goes Unpowered L+R bookshelves > speaker cable > Receiver > RCA splitter 3.5mm jack > LineOut on computer sound card. Computer plays all music through bookshelves like it should.
Then when I connect my PGo to computer via USB Firewire, no sound comes out of speakers (which are still connected to computer sound card via the 3.5mm RCA jack to receiver). At this point, I thought it's NOT supposed to make any sound (which is what happens) because the PGo is now the audio interface. Computer interacts fine with PGo to edit and control tones. Youtube and forum posts (from what I gather....) say this is what is supposed to happen... Line6 says this is all you need to do to hear the speakers.
The computer recognizes PGo. Flipping between sound card (plays sound) and PGo (plays no sound). Putting headphones into phones jack plays my guitar and music when PGo is selected as the device..
Line6 said connecting the receiver to PGo via 1/4" adapter would ruin the PGo. What am I doing wrong? No clue why they haven't written a clear procedure how to deal with this common setup. I'm not the most tech-savvy when it comes to audio and electronic music devices (I understand computers), so any help that's a *bit more* explained might help :)
In short if someone can clarify (in addition to clarification above).... Is it possible to get computer program sound (youtube/winamp/etc) when the speakers are connected TO COMPUTER SOUND CARD and PGo connected to computer VIA FIREWIRE.
I don't see any other way of connected the two if Line6 said not to connect the receiver to the PGo.
(if it matters - it's an older receiver with only RCA capability)
Thanks
