I've just bought a Variax 700 Acoustic, got it home, tried it out, and the B and D strings are silent. I've been searching through this forum and there's advice to try cleaning up the saddles - can I lift the saddles out of the holder in the bridge in order to get to the underside of them? Do I have to attack from the rear?

In case this should prove useful for someone else - I needed a T20 screwdriver (at least 100mm long) and a T10 screwdriver. Remove the battery compartment sleeve and use the T20 screwdriver through the hole in the end of the battery carrier to undo the screw in the centre of the battery carrier base. Carefully lift the battery carrier off and you'll see two T10 screws (you can get to these without disconnecting the wires, just be careful). I undid one, then started undoing the other and the button popped out. Reassembly is the opposite of disassembly, as they say in Haynes manuals.

After some over-enthusiastic button pressing, the power button on my XD-V35 handheld has stuck in.Is there a reliable way to release it without dismantling the mic, and if not, how do I dismantle it to get to the buttons?
