  1. I'll send you mine- brand new and just replaced them this weekend. Send me a text to (910) 297-3551 with your contact info and I'll send them. Just make a "donation" of what you feel like they are worth, and a few bucks for shipping. Thanks!
  2. Yes they are, you are correct. But traditionally, all three pickups are the same size despite the different spacing of the strings above them. The pickups in my Variax have different pole spacing (one of the three), and they should be identical. The spacing impacts tone, just as pole height does (Jimi Hendrix is an example of a player who purposely manipulated both those variables to influence his tone), and what I got is NOT what James Tyler spec'ed. Has anyone else found this issue?
  3. Ok- so help me understand: How do I order a pickup cover for a pickup that is apparently a one-of-a-kind, odd size? Believe me- this thing doesn't come close to fitting a typical Fender cover. Would a replacement pickup be covered under warranty? I'm guessing probably not. Honestly, for this to be so different, but still within a "tolerance variation" is pretty disappointing. And help me understand this: if this pickup is a different size because of a "tolerance variation", why does the Line6 pickup cover fit? It obviously is within the specs for the cover Line6 designed and put on it... The cover it came with fits perfectly and I'm guessing the pickup and the cover were produced in different factories... Something about this doesn't make sense. The pickup covers for the bridge and middle p/u's won't fit it either. So clearly Line6 made two different size pickup covers, for what are clearly differently-spaced pickups... Yet Line6 keeps telling me they are the same. I don't understand.
  4. Have already searched their website and in fact talked with Paul there this morning... He was great and helped me find the right pick guard, but didn't know anything about the sizing of pickup covers, and said all they had were standard Fender-sized covers. Can you tell me if it is true that the JTV69s has a neck pickup with different than standard pole spacing? Is mine an exception, or are they all that way?
  5. I have a new JTV 69s and wanted to swap out the pickup covers. The spacing between the poles on the neck p/u was different (tighter) than on the middle and bridge pickups, and a standard Fender pickup cover won't fit. Has anyone else had this issue? I called several folks at several different places, and of all things, ended up talking to James Tyler's daughter. She said clearly that his design used traditional Fender spacing for the poles on all pickups, and if mine was different it was "either a manufacturing error, or Line6 changed his specs after he submitted them, without his knowledge or consent". I'm curious about this now... Has anyone else had problems changing pickup covers?
  6. Charley, and all... Would it be dangerous to install a set of lipstick pickups in a JTV 69s? Any inherent problems with that?
