  1. Hi guys, I spent 4 hours trying to get Line6 Monkey to update my new HD500x with no luck. I could connect to the POD with the Edit software but got errors that the Monkey couldn't connect to the internet even though I was logged in and it showed my user name. I tried all of the suggestions posted in the forums including disabling my firewall and virus protection which should never be condition of using any software, PERIOD! None of the things I tried would let me connect to the internet with L6 Monkey. The fix that worked for me? Here's the basic setup I have on my desktop computer: Windows 7 64bit ISP=Comcrap cable Windows IE 11 (this was the culprit) I discovered that IE 11 during the usual Microsoft updates changed IE to use a proxy server configuration to connect to the internet which isn't necessary with Comcast and most likely the other ISP's. Here's how I got Line6 Monkey connected: If you're running Microsoft IE 9,10,11: Select Tools in the menu bar at the top of your browser Select Internet Options Select the Connections Tab Select LAN settings In the Automatic Configuration area, select Automatically detect settings Click OK Select apply, then OK Now, launch Line6 Monkey and BINGO you're connected to the L6 Server and can download the updates available for your product! Hope this helps save the frustration and wild goose chase of solving the dreaded Line6 Monkey cannot connect to the internet problem. Good Luck! Curt.....
