  1. Hi, I just bought myself a POD HD500X and am currently running it through the front input of a Hughes & Kettner Edition Blue 30R. With some tweaking the sound from the unit cleans up nicely. However, I am considering whether it is worthwhile investing in a small amp head, since the H&K does not have an Effects Loop. Now, I have two questions: 1) I have no experience with using an effects loop, is it really a noticeable improvement when running the unit via the effects loop (does the delay and chorus and such really clean up so much)? 2) If I get a small amp head, can I use the H&K amp as a cabinet (power amp), or do I need a separate cabinet to hook up to the amp head? The Bugera G5 Infinium seems very interesting, although I have not played it myself yet. Any input is welcome. Thanks in advance for your help and effort.
