L2T Dream Rig - basic setup confusion

Recommended Posts

I've got JTV-VDI->HD500-L6->L2T (not HD500X), and just powered on the L2T for the first time.

My confusion comes from the Speaker Mode LEDs on the L2T.

After power-up the L2T shows multiple "speaker mode" LEDs (PA -green, Acoustic - green, and Electric - Red).

I was expecting just 1 LED at a time, to tell me which Speaker Mode I was using - but three simultaneously?  What the ...?

I can't tell which mode the L2T is in.

HD500 is set to Studio/Direct, but the L2T LEDs don't change no matter what output setting, or whether I use an acoustic or electric HD500/JTV preset.

If I unplug the L6link, and use 2 XLRs into Ch1 and Ch2, then the Speaker Mode LEDs and sound behaves as I would expect. ie. I get one LED at a time, telling me which mode the L2T is in. And the sound changes as I would expect, so all that seems to be working.

Has anyone else seen all these multiple LEDs on with L6 link?  What do they mean?

Or am I the new owner of a faulty L2T?

Any help very welcome.....

Sorry mate, I have never seen that on my L3m but it definitely looks like an L6 link issue. There is always just one light on the back to denote which speaker mode you're in. The mode you have the POD in makes no difference to the speaker mode, just the sound. I had a few issues with the speaker mode jumping around when I first bought it. I feared the worst but it turned out to be an dodgy xlr cable causing the L6 link to get confused. I swapped it for another lead and it was fine....you might want to try a few different cables?

Good luck, hope it works out.
