Moving tones from POD Farm 2

Recommended Posts

OK.

What about this.

I create a tone with POD Farm 2 and save it. I then open it via Line 6 Edit and move it to my Pod XT.

Will I run into complications doing this?

Next question. I'm trying to understand the relation between Pod XT and Pod Farm. In simplest terms, the Pod XT functions as a 1/4" jack that passes the guitar signal to Pod Farm. Correct? However, I noticed odd things happen when I turn knobs on the Pod XT. For example, adjusting the "Channel Volume" activates the Pod Farm tuner. Scrolling the tone bank on the Pod XT doesn't alter the setup on Pod Farm.

As the guitar signal passes through the Pod XT, the signal is altered by the current tone. The signal is then sent to Pod Farm where it is processed a second time. I assume the proper way to set up the Pod XT is set the tone to "Manual" and turn off the Amp, Cabinet, and all effects. This should allow a clean signal to pass through the Pod XT into Pod Farm. Does this sound about right?

Thanks

the relationship is that they share the same models... that's it....

even pod farm 1.x matched the x3 not the XT

you should primarily use pod farm in the context of your studio recordings... not really in any context directly with the XT.

its doubtful if you created a pod farm 2 tone if you'd be able to use edit to get it on your XT....

pod farm allows dual chains... xt does not

pod farm allows multiple effect of the same type.... xt does not

pod farm is limited by the processor of your computer.... the xt is considerably more limited by it's own processor.

possibly... depends on your license....

some line6 licenses are tied to the hardware....

being pod farm 2, i suspect that's NOT the case...

however... pod farm does require an ASIO interface...

so if your built in card does not have ASIO drivers... it won't work.

Thanks for the reply.

So as I'm understanding it, the Pod XT really only functions as a jack to plug my guitar into. If so, I can just as easily use a Line-In port on my sound card and put the Pod XT back in the closet?
