Question for line 6 helix designers and engineers

First let's start with the disclaimer -- this is not a criticism, bug report or complaint. Also I'm one of the few users who owns both an axe fx ii as well as the helix -- and in my humble opinion -- as I've said in multiple threads the helix rocks!

I do think the models are accurate and sound like a miked up amp.

So I wanted to ask the engineers that designed the helix why they added some controls to certain amp models that the original amp did not have -- i.e. Champ really should just have volume or in this case drive control. Similarly the dr z only has treble, bass and volume.

Just curious and also wondering what setting those controls should be to essentially bypass them (i.e. On the axe if a model is missing a particular control cliff advises setting it either at halfway or off or at full such as master volume) to accomplish this. On the helix obviously setting master to 10 works for the no master volume amps but what about presence control that wasn't on the original?

Thanks

Howie

I don't work for Line 6 but I would think if you own both processors, they both have a simliar amp, and you know how one is supposed to sound then you could A/B them and compare how the Helix sounds versus the Axe Fx. That would give you a general idea of how all the settings are setup.
