Indianrock2020
So far I definitely see the Mahadeva, Brit 2204 and Purge useful. The Purge, surprisingly, cleans up well and crunches when you dig in -- AND as you reach down into lower notes it sounds like an octave pedal kicks in. Not a doubling of notes, just a surprising amount of bottom. Now I like this at home, but not sure how it would work in a band with a bass player. CipherHost
I experimented with the Purge yesterday and found it to be quite fun. As you said above, it responds nicely to volume and attack. I have an old LP with Tim Shaws and when I set the volume down to about 3 on the bridge pu and the Purge Drive dialed in about 50-60%, it is very clean with soft picking and quite a nice response when I play more aggressively. I placed a Dimension with only SW1 turned on after the amp and got a really nice fat chorus like tone.
Motto85
I was playing around with Purge on Pod Farm 2.0 and I'm 95% convinced it's an idealized Diezel amp, probably a Herbert. Obviously the knob style on the app eludes to Diezel, but the texture of the gain is SOOOO Diezel with how the low-end gets compressed--just short of being fuzzy, almost like an octave pedal is set at a very low mix percent. That's pretty much the Diezel sound---take a JCM 800, and make it THICK!
