Incompatible cab/mic combinations in dual amp patches

I've been using MeAmBobbo's cab/mic combination recommenations to avoid phasing
but some aren't mentioned such as a few dhewer has on customTone. Such as combining the 2x2 Silver Bell/67Condenser with the 1x12 Gibtone FCoil/121Ribbon.

I haven't listened to that patch yet but if there are phasing differences, MeAmBobbo uses effects to even out the differences.

My preference would just be to use the combinations MeAmBobbo has already verified.

Hi IndianRock2020,

I just stumbled on to this post as sometimes I do "Dual Cab".

I was wondering if what I pulled together recently for Salvation's Tide was a good thing from your perspective?

I just kind of play around and find stuff - and if it sounds ok to me, then I go with that.  So I am curious as to what I should be listening for.

I know this is very subjective.....but I like to learn.

Thanks man!

What I would do is either make both microphones and cabinets the same, or use one of these recommended combinations from an expert.  There is a spreadsheet showing how various combinations work out, in terms of one set having a small delay which causes phasing and possibly poor sound.  But the spreadsheet doesn't cover all combinations, and MeAmBobbo's fix is to insert an effect that you otherwise don't need into one amp path to even out the delay/phasing. ( way too much trouble )

Recommended mic-cabinet combinations from MeAmBobbo
