cowchop
Hey there, I recently purchased the Stagescape M20d to make my life easier with multi-track recordings. I used to use it for a podcast set up with microphones in an old studio and figured I'd have an easy time setting up the mixer for a local lavalier only session. My only problem is, I can't seem to replicate the same settings I have on my POD Farm over to the mixer. I've been using the POD Farm software for a 2 lavalier recording set-up, but now that I'm trying to record more lavaliers than just 2 (4-6 in some cases) I assumed the stagescape would be the perfect fit. What I need is to be able to talk at a normal voice, and be able to yell and still maintain the same wave-length without peeking the track. I've done this on the POD Farm software by integrating a compressor along with a noise-gate that gives me the best consistent results as seen here: https://gyazo.com/76d534482897c4b6a7060196fc521c01 I also have a Preamp and 4-band EQ attached in the image. However, because the stage scape has settings that are a bit more unfamiliar, I can't seem to get a grasp of the right presets and as a result have some recordings that peek frequently, or are very low without a consistent wave width. I've messed with the peek limiter a little bit as well as the lavalier (my only issue is that I shouldn't need to drastically modify the lav as it works fine on my POD farm set up). I've contacted the support, and the best answer I've received is that I shouldn't use a compressor. If I could receive any help from someone more knowledge on the product, I would greatly appreciate it and would love to mention you in the next podcast! Thanks a lot
