creesenator
Is it possible to select Line 6 Helix(connected with USB) as input on my MAC OS Sierra and use apollo twin(connected with Thunderbolt) as output on my MAC. My monitors and headphones are connected to my apollo and I want to keep it that way and use Helix as my Guitar AMP through my MAC. so basically play guitar using Helix connected via USB and hear it through my monitors connected to my apollo twin connected via thunderbolt. PeterHamm
Yes. It's easy. You can select a different input and output in your DAW with no problem, or with MainStage. What I do NOT think you can do is just play the helix through the Mac running no software and have the sound go out some other device. hal3001
I have a similar setup with my Apollo 8 and Helix rack. While you can select a different input and output device in your DAW you won't be able to re-amp over USB because you will need to send and receive via the Helix USB. You can actually create an aggregate device in OS X and use the aggregate device for input and out. It works quite well.
creesenator
I Use Logic Pro X. I guess I thought it would be nice to play with my setup and not always need to open Logic. But it sounds like this might not be possible if I am understanding correctly. Also I feel with this setup from Helix to Logic to Apollo to my Monitors/Headphones it feels like their is a small delay. What would creating an aggregate device accomplish in my setup? Thanks
hal3001
If you are just wanted to not use Logic for just playing or practicing, you can just run line outs into the line ins on the Apollo. That would be zero latency for playing or recording so it would work in or out of Logic.
