Helix LT AES to SPDIF and adding a mic

Dear all,

I am new here and I just start asking a question... But I need help and I couldn't find anywhere an answer.

I have an Helix LT runned through monitors and I am very happy with it. I also want to add a mic and be able to sing along my playing and also be able to record.

I can't find what will be my best option... If buying a Scarlet Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 where I can plug acoustic guitars and mic directly, and the Helix through the line inputs or the Spdif and output to monitors ot headphones and USB to record.

So my questions are:

- Do you think this is a good setting? You think there is a better option? Maybe just a mixer? Which one?

- How do you connect the AES output to an SPDIF input? Just a cable or you need an adapter? I cant find info or the correct cable.

Thanks and regards.
