toadfish1234
After installing the 2.50 firmware update using line 6 Updater, I come to a screen that says "Please wait, loading important post-update instructions." It seems stuck here, the instructions never load.I tried just pressing continue, but found I did not have the two new amps in my factory 1 or 2. What is going on? What are the important post-update instructions I need to follow? Are they why I am missing the amps? Thanks
HonestOpinion
After installing the 2.50 firmware update using line 6 Updater, I come to a screen that says "Please wait, loading important post-update instructions." It seems stuck here, the instructions never load. I tried just pressing continue, but found I did not have the two new amps in my factory 1 or 2. What is going on? What are the important post-update instructions I need to follow? Are they why I am missing the amps? Thanks You are probably ok. Bring up your Helix and then start the Editor. Now go to the "Help" link on the right side of the menu at the top of the screen and click "About. You will see a small graphic of your device with your firmware version listed at the top of the "About" page and the HX Editor version listed below that in the middle. They should read 2.50 at the top and 2.51 in the middle. This is assuming you installed the new version of the Editor 2.51 as per the instructions and have successfully updated to the 2.50 firmware. Now regarding the new preset(s). These are not installed automatically in this version of the Updater process. To install them you will have to do a global reset and for the Factory setlists. So it is perfectly normal even if you have upgraded properly and have the new version of the Editor not to see them. Ideally you will find someone to email you or point you to a download of the new presets. Alternatively here is the method for updating to the Factory presets. ONLY DO THIS AFTER BACKING UP YOUR DEVICE! You will want to use the menu entry in the editor on the top left, File --> "Create Backup" link to make a total backup of all your setlists, IRs, and global settings. I also do separate backups of my setlists, IRs, and presets to be thorough. Go to the helixhelp.com page and look up the options specific to your device for a reset. You will want to select the one labeled "Reset setlists to factory, Keep IRs". Use that combination and reset your device. This will wipe out your current Factory and user setlists and allow your new firmware to update the Factory and Template setlists to the latest and greatest. You should now have the latest Factory and Template setlists but you have also wiped your User setlists. Now we will proceed to restore them. After you do the reset you can open the editor and use the menu option on the top left, File --> "Restore From Backup". Use the backup you made in step #1. IMPORTANT: On the initial screen of the "Restore From Backup" page you will see an entry that says "Presets" with a small arrow. Expand that entry and you will see all of your Setlists listed separately. You will want to uncheck the two "Factory" as well as the "Templates" setlists otherwise you will overwrite the Factory and Template setlists you just updated with the ones from your backup from the previous firmware's Factory/Template presets and have to repeat this whole process again.
