XD-AD8 Receiver count

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!

I had a diskussion about the maximum count of receivers, that can be connected to the antenna splitting unit XD-AD8.

Using XD-V75 receivers, according to the manual 14 receivers are possible (Antenna Thru).

The AD8 manual describes 8 possible receivers using the V55 system.

Is it possible to subsplit one ore AD8 antenna outputs using the antenna splitter G55/V55 to connect more possible receivers from V55 system?

Or could this cause damages to the antenna driver of the XD-AD8?

Thanks for every constructive answer!

Best regards from Germany

Markus

Each V75 receiver can feed up to four more receivers in a chain using the antennae outputs. This means that with the AD8, you can (in theory) connect 40 receivers - eight directly and four connected to each of those. With only 14 available channels, there's obviously not much point to that though!

The V55 receivers don't have antennae outputs so you can't daisychain them on in the same way.

You can use two AD8s to feed 14 receivers - just connect one pair of outputs from the first AD8 to the input of the second AD8 and feed seven receivers from each of them.

Thank you,

I know, that I can daisychain V-75 Receivers.

But the main question was:

Is it possible to subsplit one ore AD8 antenna outputs using the antenna splitter G55/V55 to connect more possible receivers from V55 system?

Meaning:

Antenna output A at AD8 going to G55/V55 antenna splitter (1 in dual out), from ther splitting to 2 receivers V55 antenna in A

The same with antenna output B.

Apologies - I'd never seen that product before so I didn't realise it was a thing.

It looks like it'll do exactly what you want although looking at the included cables, I can't see how you're supposed to wire them up.

They're really expensive too - if you need more than one, it's much better value to get the AD8!

The AD8 has got 8 Dual Antenna outputs (8 A, 8 B).

The question was, wether it is possible to use the double antenna splitter G55/V55 to connect more than 8 receivers to one AD8 unit.

Maybe the AD8 outputs may be damaged, if they are driven with two receivers?

For example:

Ten receivers should be used, the AD8 has got 8 Outputs only.

So, two outputs may be used with the double splitter to connect two receivers on one output from the AD8.

The costs to by a second AD8 unit for just two receivers left are higher than two G55/V55 sets. ;-)
