Correct AMP configuration for toggling overdrive

Hi I have been a proud owner of the HD500 since the beginning of the year and I love it very much!

I connect my pod directly to PA via the balanced output connector. At home I use the unbalanced output to go into my small practice amp.

What I'm currently trying to do is to have 2 amps in dual path so I can toggle between and clean and overdriven mode like on a reagular amp.

Is this the right way to do this?

Here is how I configured my patches:

1st AMP is SOLO Overdrive assigned to Fs1, disabled

2nd AMP is SOLO Clean assigned to Fs1, enabled

I have panned both amps to the left channel since I use only one channel.

What I experience now, is that the volume output for my overdriven amp is waaaaay much louder than my clean amp.

I have adjusted both amps via the "Volume" knob from the amp control knobs to get near equal volume with overdrive slightly louder.

I use a second expression pedal to control my volume. Will my expression pedal control one amp volume only or both when assigned to both? That way the overdriven amp will probably get too loud again.

Or would it be better to add a patch volume pedal post amp and use this instead ?

Thanks for any advice,

with kind regards Ray
