Sonic Port levels issue

I just got a Sonic Port yesterday and plugged it into my iPad pro, plugged in an ES335 and headphones, using the MobilePOD app and the sound is, not great. Worse still, the audio levels in the phones are very low. Tried a number of other headphones and no luck, even when I crank the output level of the "amp" in the app, it's very low.

 

Is this normal? Am I doing something wrong or did I get a bad unit?

 

Should I call Line6 or just return the unit?

 

Any suggestions appreciated
