apico1
Has anyone installed some kind of guard to protect the knob on their HX Effects? I have my HX mounted on a Rockboard pedalboard and the top of the carry bag makes contact with the knobs and can put some pressure on them. I was considering installing a rail type cabinet handle to protect the knobs from damage. Something like the picture. Right now, the knobs are the highest point on the unit. If they were just regular potentiometer knobs that were chassis mounted, I wouldn't be so concerned but I think they're PBB mounted and are multi-function. Did you find a solution?? I have a RockBoard with a Line 6 HX Effects and the padded gigbag presses down on the top most knobs. Not happy with that, I see some issues with that. A company called Black Raven Designs used to make some great Carbon Fibre knob guards for Helix/HX! But seems they’re out of business :( and I can’t find any alternatives. at this moment I’m think of buying some plain acrylic strips and creating some kind of knob guard/overlay by bending it (kind of similar to what Stormguard knob guard by Stormguitar do, but more suitable for HX Effects. They’re on Etsy. Did you find anything or think of anything? Would love ideas/photos, etc :) thanks! Gabe
