Thickchesthair Posted August 5, 2018 Share Posted August 5, 2018 Hey guys, having a problem and can't find a solution for it. I have an HD500x and am just getting back into it after a year or so of it sitting on the shelf. No matter what patch I select, if it has a 2 amp setup, I get no sound from the bottom amp on the screen. A good example of this is in setlist 6, bank 2 there is a Metallica patch. The high gain treadplate works, but if you use button FS2 to switch to the clean tone you get silence. Last night I updated the firmware so that should have done the equivalent of a factory reset. I have checked through my settings and nothing seems relevant to my problem. I have tried using both the left and right 1/4" out, but do the same thing. Any thoughts? I changed the setting from GLOBAL to PRESET and that didn't change anything, but then I changed guitar input 2 from variax to same and it started working. I thought it was common to have variax as the second guitar input to make it sound better? Has anything changed in the last year or two that changes this?
