Kylewrhodes
So I’ve been running my stomp at home through my computer with a 1/4” into my interface. I brought a PA speaker and DI Box home from work to test out the differences in sound. Anyone else feel like their tone is muffled or just lower in volume? I’ve got the speaker and stomp cranked and it’s not even close to blowing me away. And my presets seems to be pushing lower outputs as well. Can anyone help? Maybe my settings? They’re all set to line.
DunedinDragon
It depends on the speaker. Without knowing more about it we'd just be guessing. Assuming it's a typical powered speaker you would normally go into it Line level, but the speaker may have other settings on it that could be the problem. Plus you don't mention what the watt output is on the speaker's internal amplifier. I'm assuming it's a powered speaker since you said you turned it all the way up, but there are some older passive designs that have a knob that actually is used to attenuate the line signal, but there's no amp in the speaker and it depends on an external amp. Also check your DI box as most of them have line level attenuator switches on them.
