Amplifi 150 +-45 volt power supply not present

Hi there, the power supply doesnt have either + nor - 45 volt power supply present. The other voltages are OK.

First question, for a working unit should there be +-45volt present at the output of the power supply or is there a possibility that it is switched off due to some settings on the amp?

Does anybody have experience in fixing the power board and can recommend where to look as I dont have a schematic.

I suspect that the fault is in one 8 pin chip: 5181 PQAC it gets the output signals from the SG3525AP but I could not find the 5181 anywhere.

Does anybody know what that chip actually consist of ???

Hi,

did you manage to fix your AMPLIFi? Mine has a blown transistor, close to that 5181 IC. So blown that I cannot identify it. Can anybody tell me what transistor is in that position? It is the only non SMD transistor, at the other side of the two big capacitors, where I have put the socket you can see in the second picture.

Thanks in advance,

Manuel

I guess it should be MPS651, because my amplifi150 also exploded on the triode on the amplifier board. I can only see MS651 clearly on it. I believe the letter in the middle should be P, and then 5181PGAD also exploded. I found this triode on our country's shopping website. I may go online to try it.

As you can see, my 5181 has also exploded, and the biggest problem I have encountered now is that the resistance at the R56 and R57 positions has also exploded, and I don't know what its original resistance should be. Could you please help me see what the resistance value on your amplifier power supply board is? Thank you very much!

Can you guys share the firmware file from your Amplifi 150 micro-SD flash drive? Please copy it bit-to-bit, post it somewhere in the cloud. I will be immensely grateful. You will help a lot of people to bring back to life an amp that turned into a brick.

Can we help each other? I can try to take out the memory card and upload the firmware to Google Drive, but I also need help myself. I need a photo of the back of the amplifi 150 amplifier power supply board, because I need to know the resistance of the two resistors R56 and R57.

I'm taking the amp apart this weekend to get to the power supply. I'll take a picture of the board and post it here.

Appreciate, because my amplifi 150 is in my other home. I won't go there until next Monday. I will try to remove the memory card and repost it. As you said, help more people revive their Amplifi150. At the same time, I will send you the link of Google Drive under this post.

By link you can get other photos

For copy (clone) from Micro-SD bit-to-bit you must special soft like a:

EaseUS Disk Copy - https://down.easeus.com/product/dc_demo?ref=%2Fdisk-copy%2Fclone-resource%2Fbit-copy-sd-card.html

AOMEI Backupper - https://www.ubackup.com/ss/download/adb/AOMEIBackupperStd.exe

DMDE 4 - http://dmde.com/

I use DMDE

Thank you, brother! You really helped me! In our country, today is Sunday, and I will upload the firmware tomorrow Monday.

Good morning, my friend, I successfully removed the sd card of the amplifi150, and then I used the DMDE software to clone the image file of the SD card. It creates a .bin file. Please try it and tell me if it works. I hope it can help you.

Thanks a lot bro, my amp worked immediately after installing the firmware on a new Micro-SD card. It's nice to bring the amp back to life after a long time. Please don't delete this firmware from Google cloud, it will allow other people to bring their amps back to life from brick state.

Here are a couple of tips:

Do not edit or modify internal presets on the amp itself or save them in the amp itself, this destroys the firmware.

It is best to save the presets you create to the My Tones folder.

I'm very excited to hear that you have successfully restored the machine. I will create a new post so that more people can see it. The tips you said are very useful. Many people, including me, should not know it.
