jdawest
I have a Spider 3 75 watt amp and it sounds great for about 15 minutes, then all the lights go out except for the LCD display and it goes silent. It will then make a small popping sound and flicker the lights for a half second about every 30 seconds. It is not hot to the touch at all, and if I turn it off and back on, it will resume lights and sound for about a second before it loses it again. If I leave it off for awhile and then try again, its fine for another 15 minutes. I'm guessing something internal is getting warm, but nothing I can touch without taking it apart feels warm. Any ideas? Thanks.
jdawest
I did a factory reset with no improvements, then I put it manual mode by holding down the tap button at start up, It works fine then, but I cant use any features. I just bought this thing online and Im just gonna ship it back.
MusicJunkie
Wow, 6 months, and no feedback????? That kind of sucks..... I have had a Spider III 75 for about 4-5 yrs now, and it just started doing something like this. I use mine far less that you do. I probably use it 5-6 times per year....lol I plugged it in and it ran great for about 15 min or so. Then al the lights go out and the sound dies. The lights will flash on every once in a while, and the sound will come back, but it is only for a very short time. Maybe a second or two. It would be great to hear from a Line 6 rep on this. I did some searching on google, and YT, and found that others have had similar issues. Some have tried attaching some heatsinks to the CPU with some luck, but I am not a techno wizard... I hope that the amp is not a goner, because it only got used a couple of dozen times so far and it would be a huge waste if it was. Certainly would make one not recommend any line 6 products in the future.
