Noise issue

Hey guys, I just received my replacement helix hx fx as my last one had a hum issue

ok, I need some help here.

ive a very basic set up that suits me just fine.

i use an m9 through the fx loop on my amp just for delays and reverbs, the Octo especially! For that u2 type shimmer sound

the helix just doesn’t sound the same!

and I did run various stompboxes straight into the front of my amp.

So I sold the stompboxes and got a helix hx fx . To replace them and all the patch cables and I can save some presets too!

now here’s the problem

the helix , the replacement one! Still makes a loud hum when turned on, if I pull a cable out of my M9 the hum dissapears instantly!

but so does any sound from my M9!

so I plug it back in and there is the hum and noise again! And also a kind of undulating hum underneath that which is in time with the flashing of the tap tempo light.

is there settings in the helix I can adjust to get rid of the noise? I just want it for some overdrives and modulation sounds, that I has with my stompboxes, which were noise free!

If I can’t fix this the Helix is getting sold and I’m going back to single stompboxes as it’s a real pain!

id love to keep the helix and take the time to learn to use it properly but I’ve got rehearsals and gigs with my band. And need this sorted ASAP

many help and advice is very very much appreciated

thanks
