If you already tried to adjust the LCD contrast with no avail (check also the power supply), the only and probably best option to fix your device is to be serviced by an authorized center..

If you are good at soldering you could try to replace the LCD screen by yourself, but the the ones described as specifically for the HD500 currently are almost impossible to find..

The one for the HD500X looks very similar if not identical, but I don't really know if it could work fine also with the HD500:

...or you could try/buy the same "GC1286400FFWJ-B" 128x64 LCD Panel module directly from China which costs less money,

but needs more time for delivery: LCD Panel 12864B

The official name of the LCD replacement for the HD500 is  "Line-6-50-02-0142"

Thank you hurghanicoHow do you suggest I can ensure that it's not a power supply issue?

..trying with any another power supply with the following specs:

9V DC, 1100mA (or more; 3000mA if the device is powering also a Variax), barrel size: diameter: 5mm, center pin (negative): 2.5mm

these are the original DC-3G specs:

...and here is a compatible PS which works perfectly and costs less:
