Edward_odessa
Hello Guys! Very interesting to know if I can use POD X3 LIVE as a MIDI Controller to catch sound from Synthesizers?
mrname
I am in the same boat. I found this in another thread: "The X3 midi interface is not a full midi implementation. It does not recognize or pass THRU the note on/off commands that are critical for recording midi sequences. So you can't record midi sequences form your keyboard using your X3." I want to use my synth with Ableton Live to record MIDI tracks but I don't think it's possible with the X3 Live. I thought I could connect the MIDI OUT from my synth to the X3 Live and then use the USB connection from the X3 Live to my laptop running Ableton. I think instead I will have to connect my synth to my Midiman USB controller and then connect that directly to my laptop / Ableton. I haven't had much luck with that either though! I also wonder if Ableton is able to manage multiple USB inputs so that I will be able to use my synth and X3 Live at the same time.
mrname
Running two USB cables into Ableton simultaneously seems to work fine: I connected the X3 Live to Ableton via USB as usual and also connected a synth to record MIDI via a separate USB cable (with a Midiman). Now the only problem is that I've run out of space on my desk to fit everything!
