jcnesbitt
For those of you not familiar with it, Tom Quayle has recently released a really cool app called solo that helps with fretboard visualization and playing through changes. For example, you can pick a tune and a sequence of chord tones (1,3,5,7 for example) and it will listen to your playing and go from chord to chord, verifying that you have played the correct notes in the correct order. Lots of other stuff too but that's the basics. The app detects what you are playing by two different methods: by listening through your device's microphone or by direct connection to the device. The microphone method works but it's not perfect. I'd like to connect to my iPad from my POD Go to get the more precise note detection. However, I'm not able to figure out how to do that. I've tried the device's USB connection to a camera adapter (USB to lightning) and a 1/4" instrument to lightning cable coming from the left output and also trying it from the FX send output. I haven't been able to get either to work. Any pointers? I thought maybe there was something in the global settings I needed to change but no luck finding something that works so far. Thank you. jcnesbitt
[SOLVED] I reached out to the app support and Tom Quayle responded with the suggestion that I re-calibrate the note detection after making the direct connection. I just didn't think about that since I thought that only applied to the microphone input.
