megadeoxys
I'm using a POD HD Pro X, connected to my PC and used as an audio interface as well as a sound card. What I noticed is that the output volume of my guitars and basses is pretty low, but the volume for everything else like Chrome or games is really high. I'm using the master knob on 25% when watching Youtube, but need to crank it at least to 50% to have decent volume for my instruments. Makes it annoying to play along to music. I also don't crank the amp volume to 100% because that causes tons of clipping, so that makes the issue even worse. Any ideas?
hurghanico
If your POD is set as the OS's main AI you can open the OS's mixer volume control panel to balance all the sources/apps currently outputting audio. Right click on the speaker icon in the system try to open the audio menu and select "open mixer volume" _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ All about POD HD500/X help and useful tips
megadeoxys
Well yeah, obviously I can do that. But why is 100% on my OS extremely loud, but 100% in the amp, which produces digital clipping, is extremely low?

It is neither necessary nor advisable to max out the amp models volume parameters. Once you find a good Master Volume knob setting for your guitars, leave it there and dont' touch it anymore. Adjust only the other audio sources. You can test the good functioning of your POD when you open a DAW and all the audio is managed only internally to the app (ie excluding external media players and the like), if your just recorded tracks playback is quite balanced with your live playing it means that your POD is performing perfectly well. However it happens that the multimedia playback clean volume offered through the POD is very generous (better to have much than little, especially to get the best signal/noise ratio), just cut out the excess you don't need. Also, if your device is connected through the 1/4" jack outputs to any flat response amplification system make sure the 1/4" OUT switch near the pedal is set to LINE. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ All about POD HD500/X help and useful tips
