TrantaLocked
edit: It broke again. Screen turns on but none of the menu shows up or works. It does show up on Windows but no audio working. Anyone know what would break if the pedal jack gets shorted? While I was using my PODxt I accidentally inserted the USB cable into the pedal port (ethernet shaped) and that seemed to have corrupted part of the firmware. I saw in this guide that you can hold down the edit button while turning on the power to enter safe mode, but at first it wasn't working. I kept trying different combinations of holding the Save and or Edit buttons while turning on and eventually got a Safe Mode indicator on the top left of the display, which didn't help much as I can't yet update since I'm waiting for a MIDI to USB cable to arrive in the mail. So I just kept doing those same variations of holding Save and/or Edit while powering up and eventually got a screen asking me to factory reset by pressing Tuner. So I pressed Tuner and the reset worked, and now my PODxt works again! I'm happy my mistake didn't totally fry the device.

But I'm curious: couldn't you apply your recipe again, to reset the device to factory defaults?
TrantaLocked
It never worked again. It's crazy that shorting the pedal jack pins, which are quite exposed, can kill the whole thing. It could be viable for someone who's worked on this model before to fix whatever died but my inspection of the board didn't show anything obvious.
