Plugs and grounding abroad

I bought my Helix in the UK with the British 3 pronged plug. I am now using it in Asia, with a cheap Asian adapter plug and

I'm getting lots of excess noise and even had an electric shock. A Youtube video explained that using the adapter changes

the flow of electricity towards the Helix and since then I have stopped using it.

What is the solution? Simply buying a similar plug for Asia? I just worried that the flow may be too much and damage the Helix.

Or is there some kind of 'grounding' adapter?

I bad with Electrics, Please let me know. Thanks
