POD XT PRO AMP ROTARY SELECT KNOB NOT WORKING

Recommended Posts

Hi, just picked up a POD XT PRO for the nostalgia of some of the old patches - and have found that the rotary knob for amp selection does not work normally, it will not move selection at all for the most part and if you can get it move the selection will bounce around erratically and end up on "no amp 0" more often than not.

My gut tells me that perhaps this one knob has failed - however I figured Id ask if anyone came across something like that software error related that would cause only one rotary knob to not work. Every other button/switch/knob/connection works. Just the amp selector knob has failed.

I had the same problem with a knob on my X3. The knob turned fine, but the value would jump around and the ultimately just be 0. Basically, I couldn't fine-tune any value using that knob. My solution was to take a tiny bit of rubbing alcohol and clean the inside cavity of the knob, and around the circuitry on the board. I'm talking a super minuscule amount (eyedropper). I did this while the unit was unplugged and then turned the knob a bunch of times and let it dry out. Once I started it up, the knob worked perfect.

Not sure if you're willing to do this type of maintenance on your XT Pro, but it may just need a good cleaning.
