HX One Can't select effects, strange behaviour?

Hello there

This is my first post and I've bought a 2nd hand HX One.

I'm unable to select effects. When the unit is turned on it displays the selected preset. If I push the Home button once it goes into the adjustments for that effect. Sometimes the effect I'm looking to select flashes in the screen for a fraction of a second.

Pushing and turning the Effect knob allows me to go to the category and effect I want but the original preset keeps returning to the display. Pushing the Effect knob to select just results in the preset returning.

It may be me I know but something doesn't seem right.

Peter

I am borrowing a friend's HX One to see if I like it and am having your exact issue quoted below, when scrolling with the Effect knob to browse and select an effect. It works fine when browsing the 128 user

It's up to date with Firmware 3.81.

"Pushing and turning the Effect knob allows me to go to the category and effect I want but the original preset keeps returning to the display. Pushing the Effect knob to select just results in the preset returning."

Example:

  1. Currently the unit is on Trinity Chorus.
  2. I press and hold down the Effect knob while turning it to browse and select the Distort category within the Effects Carousel View
  3. I select the Prize Drive then press the Effect button to select it.
  4. It flashes back to the Trinity Chorus

This is a feature that appears to have been added to the latest firmware. It's the Display Name setting.

In the last case, above, you're probably on the Trinity Chorus preset. By default, the Display Name setting is set to Auto, displaying a selected Model name for 3 seconds, then returning to the current Preset name. Changing to Model in the Settings / Display Name screen will change the behavior to always display the Model name.

Access Settings by holding the Effect knob down for 1 second. You can then scroll through the various HX One settings with the left/right arrows, with the Display Name setting as the last one.
