Hoping someone has encountered this and can help -- thx!

Issue:

  • Partial crackling audio received from Helix that glitches in and out when recorded in my DAW. Sounds like bits and pieces of what I'm playing, but with the audio cutting in and out.
  • Listen to the attachment to hear what it sounds like.

Setup:

  • 2024 M3 MacBook Pro running MacOS Sequoia v15.5
  • Helix Floor—> Mac via brand new USB B-to-C cable
  • GarageBand
  • Helix selected as audio I/O device in both GarageBand and OS settings
  • Sample rate set to 48kHz/24bit in Helix and MacOS
  • Software installed:
    • Rosetta 2
    • HX Edit 3.82
    • Line 6 Central 1.03
    • Helix Driver2 1.5.0
    • Helix Floor firmware 3.80

Attempts to troubleshoot:

  • Closed all applications other than GarageBand.
  • Confirmed the signal is not clipping.
  • Tried every USB port on my MacBook.
  • Tried multiple USB cables.
  • Installed Helix Driver2 1.5.0 and restarted. Did not resolve.
  • Updated GarageBand to the latest release and restarted (v10.4.12, 30 Jan 2025). Did not resolve.
  • With Helix selected as the system output device, audio playback from Youtube/Spotify sounds fine.
  • With Helix selected as the GarageBand I/O device, playback from drum tracks etc. sounds fine.
  • Cycled through all available sample rates. Did not resolve.
  • Tried an older laptop (Intel chip, connected to Helix via USB B-to-A). No issues recording audio!

Rosetta 2

Why?
Unless you use some old 3rd party AU plugins that would require running GB via Rosetta, it is not needed in this setup at all.
