Stadium XL expression pedal adjustment

I think I have this problem. I received a Stadium XL and before I even plugged it in, I noticed the expression pedal did not travel smoothly from one end of the travel to the other - noticeable in both directions. I sent it back to the retailer, who were fairly prompt at sending a new one out to me.

I've just opened the box on the second one and found the same.

In both units adjusting the tension with the allen wrench seems to tighten or loosen the pedal without removing the issue.

I chose XL because I need 2 expression pedals, and it makes sense for one of them to be internal... also get the benefit of the scribble strips and the additional io over and above the non-XL Stadium Floor... I'm trying to decide what my next move is as I don't think it's something I want to just put up with, and for a £2k investment my expectations are higher... but I've not seen a lot of people mention this issue online.

I think this one will need to go back as well. But before I do I might power it on and see to what extent it affects the smoothness of the tracking of the % position.

Update: I registered the unit so that I can raise a ticket with Line 6. I also contacted the retailer again. In both cases they confirmed it’s not expected and recommended returning the unit. So I’m now awaiting my third unit and crossing my fingers, hoping that it will be perfect this time. Can’t really fault the speed of support or solution offered, so well done Gear4Music and Line 6 on that at least :-). I’ve also then gone and de-registered the unit that I registered.

Worth noting that I did experiment by turning it on, updating it and found that despite the problem with the physical pedal and how it feels to use it, the unit did seem to accurately track the position of the pedal. It’s just that the feel of the physical pedal made it more difficult when using it to get the pedal into the position that I wanted it in accurately!
