tekhed
Hey all, After years of using my L6 gear for both live and studio projects I'm finally able to put my finger on what's been bothering me: When I pull up a Fender Twin model I expect to hear the sparkly clean of the amp I had in HS When I go for a JC-120, an amp I've owned since the 80's and will NOT distort, even with pedals, I expect to hear that amp (and the mandatory, gorgeous chorus) When I say "ah, this calls for my JCM800" I expect the amp that I had back in the day A lot of these amps, in real life, won't break up unless you're playing crazy loud. And some not even then. Yet they all seem to have a default starting point of "edge of breakup". That's just not accurate for many models. Pull up the 2203 model and try to get a clean sound. You have to pull the Gain knob down to near zero, then hope the Master and Ch Vol has enough make-up gain to make the patch usable. This issue, to my ears, is systemic. Is there any system wide setting I can tweak to address this? Many thanks! Mark
