clay-man
I know I should feel it out, but honestly it helps to have a visual point to know exactly where you're rolling your knob, so my question is, can I replace the volume and tone knobs with fender hat knobs? I know they come off, and I took them off many times, I'm just wondering if the hat knobs will fit and which ones you think I should get? Preferably white knobs to match the pickguard. What do you think of the idea?
Palico
Measure the diameter of the shaft and make sure you order the same. I think almost all knobs come a pretty standard shaft diameter, not sure on the Fender ones. There bunch of places you can get knobs if you really wanted, stewmac etc... Personally I don't care of know the exact setting of my volume/tone cause I'm just gonna roll them around until I hear what I'm looking for, but to if it works for you then do it. Charlie_Watt
Some shafts are metric and some are English.
mkoslowski
In your case, the problem is not with the shaft diameter but with the height. I am customizing one strat and have some spare knobs at hand. I put them on a 600 for you to see. The guitar is dissaembled because i am working on it, but you can see. I think your best choice would be les paul numbered knobs or some 'custom' ones. -- Mikhail
