clay-man
Ok, so one of the biggest problems with using hardware with software together is that in some cases you can't use them both. Let's say, I want to use an amp on the POD, but I want to use a plugin before the Amp on the POD. Let's say, a drive pedal effect. Can I do this in the signal with the POD alone? I think it would be amazing if I could.
clay-man
Aw, I wish there was an interface like that, instead of wasting I/Os to make a physical loop which can potentially damage the unit.

First option: patch it in and play it live - you will need a very low to zero latency recording rig to do it this way. 1. Put an FX Loop as the first effect in your chain on the HD. 2. connect the send from the HD FX Loop to an input on the recording interface. 3. Assign the input on the interface to a track on in your DAW. 3. connect an output from the recording interface to the FX Return on the HD. 4. connect the output of the HD to a new input on the recording interface 5 Assign this input to a new track in the DAW. 6. insert Le Cab on this track 7. Play guitar, adjust tone to taste Second option: Reamp 1. Record a dry guitar signal to Protools through spdif output. 2. Assign the dry track to an output on the recording interface. 3. Connect the output carrying the recorded dry track to an input on the HD. 4. Connect the output of the HD to an input on the recording interface. 5. insert the VST Screamer on the dry guitar track in the DAW. 6. Assign the input carrying the HD reamped signal to a new track in the DAW. 7. Insert Le Cab on the reamped track in the DAW. 8. Hit play, adjust tone to taste. Luckily I know how to use Asio4ALL to use multiple audio interfaces together, but it would double up on latency if I routed them together. I might try this one day if I need to, but for now it looks like I have to choose either post POD effects or no POD processing at all in the mix.
