Helix Stadium Tips and Tricks

  • Updating the firmware directly from your Helix Stadium is strongly recommended as the best way to update. However, if you’re using Line 6 Central or the Helix Stadium application to update, always update the application first.

  • If your Helix Stadium attempts to update the firmware and throws the message "Download Failed. Error code: -16", you need to login.

  • On Windows, users will need to install the Helix Stadium ASIO Driver or Helix Stadium application for Line 6 Central to connect with their Stadium. Both of those installers include the required WinUSB driver. The driver install requires a reboot.

  • If any type of unexpected behavior occurs, including partial or failed updates, try updating with the latest version of either the Helix Stadium app or Line 6 Central.

  • If you are running into issues logging in on the device or connecting to the Helix Stadium app, disconnect from your Wi-Fi network on the device and reconnect to it. We've seen some users see success with a USB-A Ethernet adapter for the Stadium XL. Also, your system's security settings may affect Wi-Fi connectivity.

  • If the login QR code is blank, exit to the Home Screen and try again, or login manually, or connect to the Stadium app.

  • If you are experiencing an odd behavior with a particular preset, try exporting it and reimporting it using the Stadium app to see if that solves the issue.

  • Hardware Reset: hold down the HOME and SONG VIEW buttons while powering on. In the maintenance window, click on "Restore Factory Defaults" then press OK to confirm. Restart the Helix Stadium hardware.

  • The Helix Stadium application connects over Wi-Fi for editor and librarian features. For now, Stadium XL editing over USB is not supported.

  • CustomTone access - At the moment, CustomTone does not support Helix Stadium presets.  If you have a registered Helix Stadium, CustomTone will show compatible tones.

  • Unfortunately, as of this writing, Helix Marketplace assets are only compatible with Helix, HX and POD Go products. If you purchased Marketplace assets specifically for Helix Stadium, we’re more than happy to refund your purchase.

  • To control your amp from Helix Stadium: The Control A/B (and the Helix Stadium XL Control C/D) jacks can be configured for “Ext Amp” via Global Settings > Switches/Pedals > Control (Tip) and Control (Ring) options.

  • The Remote Access PIN on Helix Stadium XL can be viewed by clicking “Set PIN” in Global Settings > Preferences. It is overwritten by inputting characters.

  • With the Preset Knob you can scroll directly to your User Presets, bypassing the need to scroll through endless Empty slots.

  • The L6 Link connection is not available yet because the D10 Expand box has not yet been released. For now, the only options for connecting Helix Stadium XL to the PowerCab 112 and PowerCab 212 PLUS is the 1/4" or the XLR cable connections. Those connections don't have any additional 'controller' features.
