  1. Can't say for sure as I do not use studio monitors or an external sound source with my pod. I can try running the outs to another source this evening and check for the noise. Though even if there's less or no noise on those outputs, it doesn't solve my problem unfortunately as I specifically need/want to use the headphone output since it's currently my best means for monitoring as well as a nice way to practice quietly.
  2. It's almost 3 months since it was purchased (it's been sitting in the box unused till this passed week), so I believe I may have to go the service route :(
  3. Shure SRH440's. I also tried it with my SRH240's and it was still there.
  4. Lucky I have like no patches since I just bought/received the thing. It actually had the older firmware on it when I received it and I flashed it just a couple days ago to the latest firmware. Needless to say the noise was/is still there before and after the firmware update. Do you think I should try it again?
  5. Not a squeal, just a droning beep. Almost sounds like the sound tests they used to give in grade school, but a constant tone. Yes the noise is present with and without a cable attached and starts as soon as I power the unit on. Mic is not one of the inputs. I tried messing with the inputs and just set them both to guitar and it's still there.
  6. Hello, hopefully someone can help me out with this issue. When playing through the POD HD Pro X (with or without my PC), I get a constant high pitched noise through my headphones. The noise does not seem to be related to the amp/fx chains as it's constantly there with or without any amp/fx turned on and the volumes/master turned all the way down. Even on a new tone/empty patch, the noise is still there. I have tried multiple different outlets in my home with and without my power conditioner to see if it was line noise, but it's still there, a couple different pairs of headphones, different cables, with and without the guitar in and it still persists. Any ideas?
  7. Yeah that's what I was kind of afraid of. I really would like to do things how I do now, just with better/newer hardware and software platforms. Part of me wants to hold off and see if Line 6 ends up offering something new in their "Interfaces" department as I realize the HD series really is designed more for live play, with the ability of recording your tones just being an added benefit. I guess I'll keep my fingers crossed that Line 6 realizes how convenient the older gen interface/software pairing is for recording and they create the POD Studio HD series interfaces and the corresponding POD Farm HD software.
  8. Hello, I am a long time user of the POD UX1/POD Farm 2 setup and am looking to upgrade to a newer, better quality Line 6 device. Currently I use the setup to record directly into my DAW (Reaper). I use the UX1 as a DI interface, then in Reaper I load the POD Farm 2 VST. This is great because I am able to make a signal chain/amp setting then record a track with it. If I am unhappy with some aspect (too much gain, not enough mids, too much bass, etc), I am able to make the changes within the POD Farm 2 plug-in in real time and hear the changes reflected in the play back as I listen and tweak. So my question is, which newer POD interface will be able to still easily do this for me, while giving me the best POD tone quality? I've been juggling a bunch of options and can't really find any straight forward answers. I'm between a POD HD Pro X, the X3 Pro, or a newer Pod Studio UX2. They each have their pro's and con's for me and I was hoping someone could shed some light on which would be best for recording the way I'm comfortable recording. The cons (and I may be misinformed): -The HD Pro X needs either another interface, or complicated routing to get dry signal reamping to work. It does not support any kind of real time tone tweaking ability over USB. -The X3 Pro is outdated/not supported anymore, so I can't find one new (easily) that still carries some kind of line 6 warranty. It still uses older modeling technology (i.e. prior to the HD releases) -The UX2 Studio does not seem to be much of an upgrade from the UX1. From what I've read, there's not any hardware changes that would actually result in a higher quality signal/better audio/less latency/etc. Again like with the X3 Pro, it's built on the older gen of modeling capabilities. So what do I get? Thanks.
