I have the Stomp. when the Red Llama sim was added I really liked it. But I noticed that sometimes after playing anywhere from a few minutes to maybe 20 or 30, the sound would start to deteriorate, getting "splatty" and choking, sounding like an amp dying, then total silence. Nothing, If I switched to another setting the sound would come back however. Today I finally gave up on it and tried some of the other fuzz type units. Same result this time. Switched to a Rat or other OD type and no issues. Tonight I came back and tried Red again. Played for close to an hour and same issue again so I subbed the Kinky Boost and continued on. Well now it happens with the Kinky Boost. I've had the Stomp I guess a couple of years now and it had only ever done this with Red. I've had it on for extended periods tracking guitars and bass for home recording. What on earth is causing this? I've done the latest updates including Edit. I bought it from Sweetwater 9/12/19 so with their 2 year warranty, is this something that just needs to be swapped out? Or is there something going on that I can change? This all started with the Red Llama which I believe was the 2.9 update maybe? Sometimes it works without a hitch but today it has crapped out a couple of times and now with other OD pedals for the first time. Help!

Bless you sir! I have been struggling to use my HD500X since getting Windows 10 because it would no longer allow me to use a couple of VRU meters I had downloaded long ago to balance volumes between settings. Just did this download and I'm seeing needles move!

Having a similar problem. I have used a little Peak Level Meter for several years from a site called Darkwood. Just a simple meter to help level volumes between patches and I have used it almost every day for years. After installing windows 10 no meter I have tried will work. I get an error saying Soundcard not available, or input channel may be in use by another program. Then it says the configured device is not available and will be reset to default. I run my HD500X to Line 6 Edit to do all my rehearsals for my worship team and it's important to have the same levels from one patch to another as I normally do 1 patch per song, name it and then can go back to it each time we play that song. Right now my only choice is to move everything to my tiny notebook computer with a broken screen and spend 10 times the effort working on songs. If it's a Line 6 driver issue I sure hope they come up with something soon.

I'm pretty sure this occurred in my HD500 as well a few times. Recently upgraded to the 500X and have done all updates. Periodically, when I am connected to the computer and rehearsing or creating tones at home using Edit, all of a sudden a sound where I have set the pre-gain at say, 75% will turn very clean. I look at the Edit screen and notice the Drive knob has magically gone from 75% to 35%. Fortunately I save all my tones so I reload it and save again. However, it may very well happen again in the same session. I've rebooted, updated, etc. but it continues to happen. I think it possibly happened live on Sunday but I can't be 100% sure I did not inadvertently save a changed tone here at home. Anyone else experiencing this? I do all editing from the computer and never touch the physical knobs at home when rehearsing. It just happens - boing! New setting. Haven't noticed it on any of the other settings, just Drive.

Thanks for the replies. It's strange but I tried to update the drivers today and suddenly Line 6 Monkey is telling me it can't communicate with the Line 6 Server on the desktop while the laptop has updated just fine. Never have had this problem before but I see other people here on the forum have and there's never an explanation as to why. Just as strange, I have been using Chrome so I thought what the heck, I'll run video in Firefox. I've been playing a You Tube playlist for hours now and no shutdowns, no bluescreens. Also tried the trick of disabling one processor through Affinity in the Task Manager. Don't know if that is helping or not but it's working right now. Oh well, fix one thing and something else goes wrong.

I run my HD500 through my Dell desktop computer along with HD500 Edit. I use it mainly to rehearse for my church worship team. In doing so I often use You Tube videos as tutorials to save time in learning parts. My computer has begun bluescreening or just shutting down any time I run videos and sometimes even iTunes will shut it down but otherwise it seems fine. It's not new, maybe 2009 or 2010 model, Windows 7. I've run all kinds of diagnostices, reloaded drivers, etc. It will have to go to the shop I guess. Recently though, I bought a brand new notebook, HP running Windows 8. After maybe getting through 3 songs it will also shut down even though no videos are running. Last time it said Windows could not restart and I needed to do a System Restore. It seems to have plenty of capacity and it is not loaded down with documents or song files, it's basically something to take along on trips, not a main computer. My question is this – is HD500 Edit too much for a computer like this to handle?It's designed to work with computers, yet it shuts down every time I use it. Is there anything I can adjust on either the Edit or the computer? It's just hard to believe that I can't do that which Edit is designed to do with a brand new computer. Even on the desktop, lately iTunes has an annoying habit of pausing numerous times while playing along, but it only does this if Edit is running. I suppose I could run my iPod into the HD500 but I much prefer doing my editing on the computer where I can easily see everything without stooping over to do it on the floor. Any suggestions or similar experiences out there?
