Spider Iv Master Volume Knob Problem

I read all these posts, and they seem very contradictory and confusing. I have tried various combinations of Master vs Channel volume, and still not satisfied with behavior of the amp. Should I just take this to a service center at this point? I'm ready to just sell this thing and move onto another amp. I like the amp when it works as expected. It just never works as expected.
