  1. Yeah - I'm not expecting a miracle with the wedge, but it'll do for now. I have been keeping it at 12, noise gate helps with the single coils as well.
  2. At the moment, using a Behringer FS1220 monitor. Has the knobs on the front, just not sure what to set them at.
  3. Since being off, figured now was as good a time as any to fool around with the Helix. I've downloaded some presets, installed some IR's and messed around with making my own patches. Granted, I've got some decent sounds, but still, how long does it take to start getting some really good tones? I've been trying to read manuals, watch videos, but it's just taking time I guess. Now, I was watching this Line 6 video and man, all sounds in the video sound amazing to me, https://youtu.be/1ipyL8HYVOI?list=RD53Qb3QqJJas. But, question is, what am I missing? Or doing wrong? Do I mess around with Global EQ settings? Leave it on? Off? Right now. just playing through a parts strat that sounds great. But as of right now, the presets I'm making just dont sound "big" enough. Do I need to change outputs or inputs? I know this thing can get get sounds, but just scared I wont be able to coax them out of it. Although I'm sure I can, just need to spend the time. But the big question is, what's the over/under on when you guys were saying, "Wow, it's starting to sound great and I'm really getting it now". I've had it a week, probably spent 6-8 hrs with it. Still not "there" yet. Just looking for pointers for a noob is all.
  4. I added the IR's to the patches today. Sounded a lot better. Need to tweak the volume a little.
  5. Glenn, thanks for a reply. I know they sound great, and I knew it had to be something I wasn't doing right, lol. It's Sonny btw. I'll probably read the file today to see if I can tweak the sounds. The IR's have a separate file?
  6. Well, it's what I already had at home. I'm not sure if his patches came with IR's. I'll have to check. Not even sure what I'd change the eq too..
  7. Guess one thing is for me, just sounds like most patches I hear, sound so up front, clear and preset. My Helix sounds nothing like that, yet.
  8. I was thinking about something like the output blocks, but still not sure what I'm doing, lol.
  9. Finally took it out of the box today, played around about 2 hrs or so. After fiddling around (not reading the manual yet), stumbled upon Glenn Delaune's packs. Ended up buying the Custom Artist Pack #2. Sounded great on his YouTube channel. Downloaded them, ended up figuring out how to do the scenes, which I do love so far. But using the different packages I've noticed the volume would either be way down, or up pretty high. For instance, the Andy Timmons patch was very low. Still not sure how to get them all even. I'm using a parts strat at the moment. So, with all this, anyway to get the volume even on all patches? If so, how? Plus, also I'm running through a cheaper active speaker, not sure if that has any bearing on sound. I'd like to think not. But not sure if I keep the speaker volume low, then turn up the volume on the Helix, or vice versa. Attached is a picture of the speaker. Thanks for any answers that may come.
