  1. I am looking for a good custom tone for (goes by many names) 8-finger tapping, touch technique...Stanley Jordan. Since there is no picking, I need a tone that has a lot of sensitivity and sustain, but not a lot of distortion. Does anyone know of or have a tone like this they can post or direct me to? Apart from the HD500X, what is recommended on the pickups for this? Single coil, series, parallel, bridge, neck, distance to the strings, etc?
  2. If you think of it like an increase in value, then your way is correct. If you think of your banks as a list, then my way is correct. I just think that if people are using it along side Line6 Edit, pushing the down button to go up the list is odd. But all we are asking for is the choice, not to change it for everyone.
  3. For what it's worth, I added the suggestion to offer us the option here: http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Bank-Up-Down-Buttons-Are-Swapped/721076-23508
  4. This may be, depending on the people. But this is opposite to how any software program, tv guide, phone app, etc works. Down always indicates the "next" one in the series or list. So unless you think of the banks numbered in a list from 16 at the top to 1 at the bottom, the HD500X buttons are indeed swapped. In any event, it would be a nice customization to choose which direction.
  5. I think this would be a nice (and easy) option to add. Is there a place I can suggest this?
  6. I don't know how this relates to my job with engineering, computers, programming stacks, games with invert y axis, remote controls, etc...but for me the bank-up / bank down buttons seem absolutely swapped to me. With a mouse you move it down to go through your information, from the beginning to the end. Pushing the down arrow on the keyboard goes down through the information, excel spreadsheet, whatever. You push the up arrow to go back to the beginning....but not on the HD500X. Pushing the upper button to increase the bank number and the lower button to reduce the bank number, seems completely opposite to me. Is there a way to swap these?
  7. I am trying to balance the patches (tones) in my HD500X and some of them are just too soft, even with the mixer at the highest level. What is the best way to increase the volume without altering the sound? I have tried adding an amp which of course works, but I couldn't find one that didn't change the sound a lot. I'm sure there is an option somewhere I am missing.
  8. The firmware update instructions said to hold the 4-way switch to the left when turning on the unit to perform a reset, but after trying several times I couldn't tell if it was doing anything or if there was simply no confirmation from the unit that a reset had been performed.
  9. I just bought these too (thanks for the great tip) and they worked very well, though it didn't seem necessary to use a spacer. They just popped on. I also just put them on the buttons I use most often. They are much easier on bare feet too than the metal. They're in the misc hardware aisle under furniture parts: http://www.lowes.com/ProductDisplay?partNumber=51825-37672-884312
  10. I use a volume pedal further downstream, so it is not a big deal in my setup. I just thought it odd that with so many choices in the software, that it didn't seem to let me choose which pedal.
  11. This is working extremely well and is very straightforward. The only issue I am having is that it seems Volume and Pan are locked to EXP2? Is there any way to assign one to EXP1 and the other to EXP2? Otherwise, you have to choose between either volume or pan. Not a tragic issue, but an odd one at least.
  12. Can this be done for the entire effects chain at once? It would seem like a nice feature. And if not, can you explain how you do set up to 50 parameters for exp1/exp2? It was probably there in the software but I missed it.
  13. I want to use the pedal to dial down all the effects at once, so at the minimum setting it would be 100% clean (dry), and at the maximum setting all of the effects (wet) would be heard.
  14. Wondering if there is some way to configure the integrated pedal (or external pedal for that matter) as a wet/dry control, in case the effects as a whole need to be dialed up or down during play. Ideally, this wet/dry control could be assigned to EXP1 and the volume as EXP2. I was reading a lot buy couldn't find out how to do this. Help please?
