  1. All Just about to build a new DAW for the first time in 3 years and will be moving to Windows 11 23H2 for this build. I see that the tools for my trusty POD HD Pro X have changed slightly over the years but I wanted to be sure I use the right downloads for this build. 1. Firmware/Drivers = The "new" Line 6 Central app OR... I see that Line 6 Monkey (v1.77) still works fine and appears to do a better job of managing everything (Drivers, Firmware and Applications) in just a single UI. 2. Licensing = Line 6 License Manager (v1.12) (assume this is still working normally)? 3. Patch Editing = POD HD Pro X Edit (v2.27) Appreciate any info on these going into a new Windows 11 installation. Cheers! VP
  2. Hello After many a great year - I am selling my PODXT Pro today. Before it goes out the door - I want to accomplish 3 things: 1. Reset the device to Factory for the new buyer 2. Deauthorize it from my Line 6 account 3. Gift the existing powerpacks that go with the device to the new user I have collected a bunch of info on steps 2 and 3 but I am not clear on exactly when to perform Step 1. Do I deauth first, then wipe the device and gift the model packs later (when new user has confirmed their Line6 acct) OR do I wipe the device and then Deauth? Appreciate any info on the known good sequence of events so I do this correctly. Cheers VP
  3. Silverhead, Understood. However - Line 6 probably needs to revise their documentation because this Pod HD Pro X Edit installer - is supposed to do it all in one pass (see attachment). If it does not actual "install" these things to a working state - then why exactly am I prompted to install them as part of this routine? Or - better yet - why are they even included in this installer? When I saw this installer - I was actually excited to see it since it looked to me like I could do everything in one pass. Bottom line - this "edit" installer is either bogus or simply does not work and needs to be fixed. Thanks for the update - made notes for "next time" :) Cheers! VP
  4. Morning, I am building a new DAW with Windows 10 and have run into all sorts of nonsense with the Line 6 stuff - specifically what order to install things in. If I follow the "line 6" accepted documentation outlined in this PDF "POD HD Pro X Install Guide" http://line6.com/data/6/0a06434c0c0752431358ba12f/application/pdf/POD%20HD%20Pro%20X%20Install%20Guide%20-%20English%20(%20Rev%20A%20).pdf It tells me the download this file - POD HD Pro X Edit v2.26 Installer.exe Which contains everything I need: Drivers, Monkey, Lic Manager and of course Pro X Editor. So I run it and install everything as noted. It completes. I am waiting for my "drivers" prompt to appear since the drivers are the key piece of this. I never get a drivers prompt. Matter of fact - that "install" guide listed above - never mentions drivers, what to do once installed or anything. So I decide to fire up Monkey - which is only at 1.70 with this Pro Edit Installer. I update Monkey to 1.71 and run it. It tells me that I have no drivers anywhere for the HD Pro X. So I download this file: Line 6 Drivers v4.2.7.1 Installer Which I run and I finally get some driver action and get the unit installed. So given all this back and forth - what the heck is the right way to install a Line 6 device in Windows so everything is installed logically and in the correct order? Clearly this POD HD Pro X Edit v2.26 Installer.exe does pretty much nothing except install the Edit app. Appreciate some insight from the field. Cheers! VP
  5. Just an update on this item - I had the Pod taken to a local shop for a full diagostic and nothing could be found out of the ordinary. The hum from the internal board (while not completely normal to me) seems to have no effect on the actual operation of the unit itself. So until I smell burning electronics - I guess I will keep on trucking with it - as is. Cheers, VP
  6. Been trying to follow the threads here with the new FW release - but there are so many issues, version numbers and so on flying around in here. I have not done anything to my Pro X yet - if I fire up the Monkey later today - will I see 2.62 coming down the pipe? And if I do - should I update? Just want to be sure I have the right version and enough info to get this working before I even try to update. Just amazes me how every Pro X out there - SHOULD be exactly the same inside - yet one guy updates fine and another guy has a failure of some sort. Any info on what to do - or what not to do (if applicable) would be most appreciated. Cheers! VP
  7. That's sounds like a grounding issue if you can hear it thru phones. My issue is different. There is a humming drone coming right out of the case itself - like something in there is out of wack. To be clear - I have no sounds of any kind coming OUT of the pod when plugged into the system. I can play thru it and it's output is normal. But take the phones off and you can hear this annoying whine from inside the box in the rack. VP
  8. After finally getting my POD XT Pro back in the rack (after a good year in storage) - after powerup yesterday - I discovered a faint but noticeable hum coming from within the actual POD case itself. To be clear - this sound has nothing to do with patches, guitars plugged in or any other kind of typical "amp sim" hum. Sounds like a possible transformer or something else inside the actual case. Anyone else experience this - and if so - is a trip to a service center in my future or worse? (Possible failure). Appreciate any updates. Cheers! VP
  9. I was able to get this one solved. I proceeded with the removal and deauthorized both the PC and the POD XT and the re-authorixed both. Good to go. VP
  10. Hello, Yesterday - after deciding to keep my trusty Pod XT Pro - I reracked it today and am now trying to ensure all is well with it - AND my model packs previously purchased to use with it. After some oddball messages from License Manager 1.07 about an "error attempting to authorize your device" - I switched the Pod XT Pro to a different USB port and I am now getting a completely different message: What exactly does this mean and what is going to happen if I press Remove? By the looks of this - it seems that I am about to kill off my model pack usage via my Pod XT Pro? Any ideas on exactly what the manager is trying to tell me? Cheers! VP
  11. Happy New Year As a Pod user for many a year - I have had a number of different models. Last October I pulled the trigger on a new Pod HD Pro X and removed my trusty Pod XT Pro from the rack and stuck it in the back room for a future sale However - over this Xmas break - I finally got back into the "back room" and found the XT...and got to thinking - is it even worth it to sell it? Here in Calgary I would guess that I might get 200 bucks if I am lucky and in the case - it may be better to just keep it. Thoughts? Anyone out there have both and use them both? Cheers, VP
  12. Not really sure what the license manager might have to do with this. I opened it and all it did was authorize my PC for usage. And it now lists 4 old model packs that were used with my old POD XT Pro. No sign of the new rig or any auths for it. VP
  13. I purchased my new Pod HD Pro X back on 10/30/13 and registered it with my Line 6 acct that same day (NOT via Monkey). But now every time I fire up Monkey to see what's new - the thing tells me my Pod is not registered. With all previous attempts - I did not follow thru with a re-register. Today - I get the same message and today - I thought - I WILL re-register - just to get this annoying message to stop. So I attempt to re-register and of course I get a huge error in my acct panel - telling me the Pod is already registered. Sigh. What exactly is the right way to ensure that Monkey knows my rig is mine and is properly registered to my acct? VP
  14. Yep - I think that what it was...free upgrade to v1...and yes - I had to have the POD inline for any usage. Cheers! VP
  15. Hmm..I remember using (purchasing?) a very early Pod Farm plug but I think it came with some Gear Box sale/offer. I do not believe I ever had the full blown "real" Pod Farm plugin. I do not see any reference to it in my sales history - so I am thinking it's a lost cause. Might just leave the Pod Pro loaded up and sell it like that. Cheers! VP
  16. I just took delivery of a new POD Pro HD Pro X and soon - it will be time to take my Pod Pro XT to the classifieds...so some questions: 1. Model Packs - what exactly happens to my model packs that are associated with my XT (and my Line 6 acct)? Do they disappear? Can I transfer them to the new owner? 2. The Pod on my acct - I am assuming that I would drop that serial from my acct at the time of a sale and then the new owner could register it? 3. Anything special I need to know about getting the POD HD Pro X into my acct? Appreciate any advice from the field... Cheers, VP
