  1. Yes, Dunedin, sorry, my bad ... i already did seppuku 3.5 times this morning, that should do it ...
  2. And i right away got the answer and solution here at le bottom of the page, lol : https://manuals.morningstar.io/mc-midi-controller/switch-latency Double tap presets are the culprits ! Closing of the case closed, haha !
  3. OK, thanks guys for your help, case closed. The problem is within the MC6. When midi monitoring the MC6 everything is fine ( i send 3 simultaneous CCs at each press ) which means that the 3 CC are sent not simultaneously but in series within a 6ms time span. So barely noticeable. But monitoring like this was just a part of the picture. Yes the CCs could have been further apart, i thought this could have been the problem, but it didn't occur to me that the whole 3 CCs group could be delayed, stupid me. So, to be sure i decided to compare with the computer clock (the MC6 displays the time according to the Windows clock y/m/d/h/m/s/ms !!). I would press the switch let's say exactly at 8:00:00:000. and then the monitor would show something like 8:00:00:290. Yes, almost 300ms delay, just because there are 3 CC sent in one shot ! Wow, first time i find something that bugs me with that incredibly genius MC6 MKII ! Sooooo ... i'm off to the Morningstar forum to try to find some insights. Apologies for wasting your time, this is not a HXFX problem, which i am very glad to know ! Thanks a lot and happy playing ! ps: Also, i already have the switches sensitivity of the MC6 at 5, the minimum latency setting, so that's not the problem.
  4. That's a smart advice ! Yep no problem with the blocks response, so this is definitely a midi issue. Gonna try to control with another controller now. Thanks Schmalle !
  5. Yes, thanks a lot for chiming in, but like i said above it's what i do too. ^ ^ And obviously the MC6 is not at fault here.
  6. Well, it's just some delays for looping, very simple. One CC to switch the delay on, one CC to control feedback. Delay on, feedback 0 or 80% Delay off, feedback 100% Sometimes i punch into the delay with precise timing. At that time the latency is a problem. Not at home now so can't send preset. Thank you though !
  7. Thanks a lot for your time ! ... but that does not help. No need to measure, i do not care whether it's 25ms or 40ms, it's already too much latency felt. It actually feels more like 200ms ! And i am not using my DAW as this is a live rig. The MC6 editor has a great monitor section with timing in ms and it's clear that the latency is in the HXFX's reaction. As to why, this is a complete mystery ... Doing the same thing with my BOSS GT1000 is a breeze and the GT1000 reacts so fast that it's impossible to feel any latency. Clear winner here.
  8. Hi, I am controlling my HXFX (3.70.0) with a Morningstar MC6 MKII and i am experiencing a really noticeable latency between the MC6 commands and the HXFX reaction. Something like 30ms or more. I am sending 2 slmultaneous CCs so i doubt this is choking the HX. The connection is a simple MC6 midi out to HXFX midi in. USB midi off / PC Rx,Tx off / Midi thru off / Midi clock off both ways / Snap CC off Anybody having this ? Anything i am missing ? I am wondering if this is normal, and if yes, whether this could be addressed in a future update. Thanks in advance for any insight
  9. Thanks, yes i thought of this of course, but it doesn't work for what i'm doing. Stackable snapshots, yes, but only 4 of them, doesn't work for me. Thanks for your help anyway. So i think i'm either gonna drive it with another controller (so i can have 2 footswitches with the same midi CC# but different values) or just sell it. Doesn't do it for me, alas.
  10. Oh, snapshots are stackable ?? (HX newbie here) Thanks, i'll give it a try !
  11. Hi, I just got a HXFX and it seems that it is not possible to assign multiple control sources to a single parameter, footswitch or midi CC. Multiple parameters for one source=OK Multiple sources for one parameter=NG What a bummer ! It's a major disappointment for what i intended to do with it. I don't wanna use snapshots because it takes two footswitches for two values whereas one assign only uses one. I am a long time BOSS user and regardless all the things i like in Helix and Co, Line 6 really sucks with assigns, where BOSS is a joy to use, and they don't have that snapshot thing. In detail, i use delays for looping: one footswitch simultaneously activates the delay block from bypass and turns the feedback from 100% to another value (50% or + for slowly decaying loop, and 0 % for punching holes in the loop) Ideally, for the same delay block, i want -One footswitch to turn on the delay from its bypass state and get the feedback at, let's say 70% -Another footswitch to turn on the delay from its bypass state and get the feedback at 0%. With BOSS, BEEBO, ZOIA, etc ... it's easy to do so but sadly nope with my HXFX. I am right now thinking hard about a solution but i am very disappointed and a bit pissed at myself for not reading carefully enough before purchasing. The only solution i see for now is to take out my Morningstar MC6MKII (which i was happy not to have to use after getting the HXFX) and get two of it's footswitches send the same midi CC but at different values. Speaking of Morningstar, that's really a product whose designers really imagined all the musician scenarios thoroughly. I don't have that feeling with HX. Its assigns rigidness is not very creative, imho. I got the HXFX because it can have up to 8 seconds delay but if the GT1000 or Core (i own both) had more than 2 seconds delay i would have stayed with BOSS. Too bad because the Helix series has a lot of sexy things thart BOSS doesn't have and i'm not a fan boy, i wanna love the HX but that assign shing ... (sigh)

    HXFX durability ?

Funny, in my research i just came about your YT video about that. Great explanation ! Thank you.

    HXFX durability ?

Wow ... then if it's the case, good for me since the footswitch base just got replaced. Thank you.

    HXFX durability ?

Thank you for the advice ! Comes with 12month warranty. Bargain price so i'll consider ... Some pics : Attachments ezgif-3-d0574f82ba.jpg 351.5 KB · Views: 0

    HXFX durability ?

Hi, I have a chance to get a HXFX used for a great price, i am told everything works perfectly, but the unit seems to have been handled rather roughly, judging by the scratches. Seller (shop in Japan) says Line 6 JP has replaced the power switch and the footswitch base but i would like to hear some long time users opinion before firing the credit card. So, how has been the durability of HXFXs that are from 2019 or so ? Any long time users, 4+ years, without problems so far ? Would love to know. Thanks !
  16. Well, after a blue screen of death right into the middle of a live looping set, (i repeated the thing at home to be sure, it is the Express MKII x2 that caused it) i decided that those were not for me to use with Ableton Live in a live situation. So i sold them with no regrets. Plus, one unit was a bit squeaking when moving the pedal, annoying. Otherwise, that's too bad, it is a well featured controller ! Personally, no more computers during a live. Just too unreliable ... Hardware all the way ...
  17. I seearched the manual (yes, should have done that before posting, uh?) and it says this : "Note that this does not affect how the Line 6 FBV application launches when your FBV MkII device is connected - It will automatically display the GUI for the connected FBV device type. Further, if you have more than one FBV MkII device type connected to your computer at the same time, such as both a Shortboard and Express MkII, then you’ll be prompted to select which you want the Line 6 FBV Control application to work with (so go ahead and buy a few FBV units if you like!)." But i would really appreciated that someone confirm this, still doubting a bit .... Thnx
  18. Forgot to mention that i want to use two Express MKII instead of one shortoard MKII because the shortboard's switches are just too noisy. Too bad really, btw.
  19. Is this possible ? I want to control Ableton Live with two intances and i am wondering whether the FBV editing software, as well as Live itself, will be able to differenciate the two. Apologies if this has already been discussed. Thanks.
