  1. I've had my Mk ii 112 for about three years now... gigging on average twice a month. I've never changed the tubes. The amp is starting to act up on me. Clean tones are dirty and dirty tones are difficult to control. I am thinking that problem is not related to the tubes though because it is an intermittent problem. The last gig it worked great. I will tap a few pots and it starts working a little better, though still not as well as it should. Should I be looking to change the tubes?? Would that be an appropriate trouble shooting step given that the symptoms are intermittent?? Can't be having amplifier issues on stage!!!
  2. Have just picked up a Spider II Valve 112 and was dismayed to discover that the song presets that were preprogrammed into the Spider IV are not on this amplifier. I have looked through the CustomTone selection and noticed they're not all there either. Even if they were all there though, I am unable to open those .sve files on my MacBook. What might be really useful would be a list, not unlike the CustomTone list, that would specify not just the amp model but the settings so that a person might pick and choose presets and enter them manually. Or maybe that's exactly what the .sve files are about?? If so, I will make an effort to find a program for my Apple that will do the job. I remember a 'Money For Nothing' and an 'Another Brick in the Wall' and a 'Smoke on the Water' and a couple of ZZ Top presets that I particularly liked. Is there a one stop shop that would have, in a simple format, nothing more and nothing less than all the settings for the Spider IV presets?
  3. Good question. I came on here to ask the same thing. I downloaded a few of those .sve files, but have been unsuccessful in opening them on my Macbook. What form do those files take when opened? It would be really handy if there was a spreadsheet out there somewhere with all the settings for each of those song tones, so that a person could select a specific few and recreate and enter them manually. Does anyone know if that sort of thing is available anywhere?
  4. If you've done a factory reset and the problem hasn't gone away, you might actually have a problem with your amp. I had one strange little glitch with my Mk IV once where I lost control of the presets. There was a dead spot on one of the pots (can't remember which one). At the suggestion of Line 6 technical support I tweaked the dials and the problem went away.
