Hello everyone,
I would like to gather feedback from other POD Studio and TonePort users regarding the recent end of hardware authorization support by Line 6.
I own a POD Studio GX and a valid POD Farm 2.5 Standard license.
My situation:
POD Farm 2.5 license is valid and works correctly on my computer.
The POD Studio GX hardware is fully functional and works with other audio applications.
However, when the GX is connected, POD Farm can no longer use the license because the old hardware authorization system is no longer available.
Line 6 support confirmed that:
POD Studio/TonePort interfaces (GX, UX1, UX2, etc.) can no longer be authorized.
License Manager has been retired.
The recommended solution is to use another audio interface with the new POD Farm 2 license.
I appreciate that Line 6 provided a replacement POD Farm 2 license. However, this means that owners of perfectly working POD Studio/TonePort hardware must now purchase another interface to replace a device that still functions.
I would like to know:
How many POD Studio/TonePort owners are affected by this?
Did anyone find a workaround?
Do you think Line 6 should provide an official solution allowing these interfaces to continue working with POD Farm?
Are there users interested in contacting consumer organizations or requesting a clearer solution from Line 6?
Please share your experience, model (GX, UX1, UX2, TonePort), operating system, and current situation.
The goal is not to attack Line 6, but to understand how many users are affected and whether a better solution can be found for owners of still-functional hardware.
Thank you.
