  1. Is there a way to copy a whole bank to another bank without using the editor? Sorry if this is an obvious question. Dylan
  2. UPdate: used a shorter cable and the difference is much less noticeable.
  3. Still seems somewhat limiting. I just plugged a 20 foot monster cable, and I can hear a slight difference between that and the XLR. (I will try a shorter cable). Plus if you go into Global Settings and tell the volume knob to control the 1/4 output only, you then have little control over the level that you're sending to the PA, via XLR which from what I could tell was very hot. Per the panning idea. It seems like it would make sense but it doesn't give you an "on the fly" way to bump up your stage volume without sending more to the sound guy. Dylan
  4. Ok great. Going to give the 1/4 inch to speaker a try. Easy enough to A/B it with an XLR and see if there's any loss. Thanks everyone for the options. Dylan
  5. Yes I can run a 1/4 to my powered speaker. Is there any difference in sound or loss of fidelity between using the XLR or the 1/4 output? Thanks Dylan
  6. Sorry if this is self evident. Trying to overcome the learning curve here as quickly as I can. Right now the XLR outs, Left and Right share the same master volume knob (the big knob). I have a powered speaker (Matrix Q12). I'm taking the left out of my Helix into the powered speaker and then send the right out the the PA. How can I control the L output so I can increase the volume going to my powered speaker but not the volume going to the PA? I'm not the one running sound, so "turn the PA channel down and the Helix up" is not a solution for me. Thanks Dylan
  7. The purpose is that I want to use the amp (not the cab) settings that I currently have for some patches using Amp + Cab to audition new Cab IR's. I know i can manually copy them, (write them down) and then just load the amp by itself. But I'm wondering if there's a quicker way to just copy the settings or just move the Amp, minus the Cab to a new block. I hope that was clear. To put another way, let's say I like the sound of my Solo Lead OD (amp + cab). I want to see how the same EQ settings on only the amp will interact with a 3rd party cab IR, so I want to create a new block with the same amp settings. Thanks! Dylan
  8. Will be diving back in tonight. Will probably try some 3rd party impulse responses as well. Got a gig thursday I can test fly it. Thanks for the tips. Dylan
  9. Just cracked it open tonight and spent a few hours with it. Seems like it has some nice clean and semi dirty sounds. I was a little underwhelmed or disappointed that I didn't find any higher-gain classic rock type of amp models that I loved. Also, the higher gain models seemed to all be a bit overcompressed, lacking dynamics. I backed off the Guitar IN impedance a few clicks and that seemed to help. I also fiddled around with the amp bias and the master section, but that didn't cure the "over-compressed" sound. Compared to the JC800 patch on my X3, ......yes the X3 could sound a bit synthetic, but it also had a certain feel to it that I found to be a little more natural than similar moderately high gain patches in the Helix, which is a bit disappointing. I'm really hoping I can make this work. All the bells and whistles aren't' going to matter if I can't find a distorted rhythm patch that I like. I'm wondering how much a difference some of these 3rd party Impulse responses will make. Guess I'll find out tomorrow. Dylan Schiavone
  10. Sorry...a newbie question. I'm not talking about the Firmware, which i know can be seen at startup and accessed within the Global Settings menu. I'm talking about the 'Helix Application." The current version is V1.02 as of the time I'm writing this. I would have thought the updater would have told me or given me the option to choose it. My Helix came shipped with the most current firmware, and I don't want to "update" the software if it's already current. Thanks!! Dylan
  11. Just got my Helix in the mail today. The expression pedal feels somewhat stiff. The action is way stiffer than my x3 or any of my standalone wah type pedals. Is this normal to the Helix? Is there a way to manually adjust it so it works a bit more easily? Thanks! Dylan
