  1. Yeah, let me dig it up and see what I have. I bought a used Stomp XL about 8 months ago, so I have only been building presets in it vs on the amp. I'll get it done though over the next few days
  2. Can you tell me how you have this setup? I have a Blues Jr clone but the speaker is just okay and thought about doing this as well.
  3. I just got a Stomp XL a week ago and I know I am just scratching the surface, but so far anything coming from the Stomp XL sounds great using the Dynamic amp. Mine is set up with no Boost, Gain around 4.5, Bass at 6, Mid at Noon, and Treble at 5. Presence is around 4 as well. This seems to work well with anything I throw at it from the stomp using my Strat. What's your favorite? Feel free to share your settings.
  4. Thanks for that detailed explanation. I'll start messing with it and let you know if I have any problems. This is all new territory to me, so I really appreciate the time you spent to explain it. Once I get into it, I'm sure it will make better sense regarding presets, snapshots, etc. It just showed up today, so I have some reading to do, lol...
  5. I have a Cat 200 and just received a pre-owned Stomp XL. Is it possible to use the Stomp XL to switch between the multiple cannels of the Cat? The Stomp XL has the 3.60 update installed and I read that on 3.0 update it gave Command Center midi control, but I'm not finding anything about the use of that for the Cat 200. I saw where the HX FX is able to do this and I was looking for a pre-owned HX FX but a Stomp XL showed up for a pretty sweet price so I jumped on it instead. Thanks, Byrdman
  6. This is the way I did it - After you have done the above, make a new folder on your desktop and name it Cat Files so it's easy to find, and put the files you DL into it. When you click "Upload File to Amp" in edit, it will ask you to choose what folder to use. Pick the one on your desktop you created. From there on, it will go to that file every time. I re-save them to that same file once I have done the fine tuning.
  7. That is a pretty heavy request, pun intended. TBH, the only way I have been able to get harder high gain sounds is with additional effects and plugins. If you have a stomp, or like me, a Nux MG300, you can get closer. You can also try Tonex or NAM plugins to help. I was able to get some Janes Addiction/Smashing Pumpkins tones using my MG300 and Tonex CS. This amp is, IMO, not really great for heavy distortion tones. Maybe you can get a used Spider or something along those lines to satisfy that itch. This amp is really good at doing what it does, but heavy & metal distortion is not what it does best IMO.
  8. Thank you for the help! Choosing ASIO did the trick. Now all I need to do is dial them in.
  9. Thank you! I'll try that. I'm using a laptop, so desktop version. I messed with the all the settings and saw ASIO, but I did not change the inputs when I picked ASIO. I'll let you know if it works.
  10. Okay, I got sound coming out, but the latency is bad and it really doesnt sound good at all. There are no 3 & 4 in Tonex settings, just Input 1 and output Left and Right. It did automatically pick up the Cat as an AI. Any suggestions appreciated!
  11. Thank you for the information. I assume the USB 1/2 & 3/4 are assigned in the software? Do I still need an AI in the chain or will Cat Edit handle it? This will be the first time I have done this and if you have time and can dumb this down any additional info is appreciated. Thanks again!
  12. I have been using my Catalyst Edit SW since day one, so we are all good there as far as computer connectivity. Hopefully it will run through or in conjunction with the Cat Edit SW. Thanks for taking the time to let me know how you are doing it with another amp.
  13. I have been searching on how to use a laptop as a modeler/effects pedals with my amp without much success. What I would like to do is try Tonex CS and some of the other the free/opensource modeling plugins through my Catalyst 200. I'm not interested in running it through a DAW to record, at least yet, unless there is no other way around it. Just wanting to try some of the free modeling plugins out there through the amp without needing to buy hardware/pedals. Perfect setup would be guitar>computer>amp, with an audio interface in the line somewhere. I play at home and I just want to use my computer as the modeling/effects pedalboard. I know I will need an audio interface, but I have never used one and unsure of where, how or what unit would work in this situation. All the videos/info online I found discuss the interface as a tool to replace your amp, not use it as a modeler/effects hardware replacement. Any recommendations are appreciated and obviously since this is a home only situation, the cheaper the better. Thanks in advanced!
  14. One of the members at TGP said he plugged his acoustic guitar through the FX Loop and used clean with a little reverb and chorus and it sounded pretty good. He may have adjusted a few settings in the edit software, I cant remember. I have not tried it yet, but I need to . Check the Catalyst amp post over there.
