Ux1 Not Appearing License Manager

I am having the same problem, I have a new computer with windows 8.1 and my license manager does not detect the UX1. I also am unsure of what you guys mean when you say that you have solved the problem in Windows 8.1 via the compatible mode for License Manager? What is compatibility mode?
